A Blush-Toned Vineyard Celebration: M + J at Trents
Some weddings feel like stepping into a fairy-tale — not because of castles or carriages, but because love lingers in every detail, every glance, and every carefully chosen colour. Mackenzie and Jamie’s October wedding at Trents Vineyard, a stunning Christchurch wedding venue tucked into the heart of Canterbury wine country, was one of those days.
A celebration of love, laughter, and personal touches, all wrapped up in soft pink tones and vineyard magic.
A Spring Romance with a Pink Palette
From the moment guests arrived, the mood was set — romantic, fresh, and joyfully them. Mackenzie’s love for the colour pink shone throughout the day, weaving a soft and cohesive thread through every detail: the bridesmaids’ dresses, the blush-toned florals, the table accents, and even the sunset light seemed to echo the theme.

It was romantic without being overly sweet — just the right balance of modern charm and spring-inspired elegance, perfect for a Canterbury wedding in full bloom.
Florals that Told a Love Story
Of all the visual highlights, the florals by Flowers by Casey were absolutely breath-taking. Casey created dreamy arrangements that felt freshly gathered and full of life, with blush and ivory roses, soft peach tones, and seasonal textures styled into everything from bouquets to ceremony backdrops.

The ceremony florals framed the couple beneath the trees, while dainty table arrangements added softness to the reception space. The entire design felt ethereal and intentional — floristry that didn’t just decorate the day, but added emotional depth and colour to the love story unfolding.
Thoughtful Touches: The Wedding Magazine & Crossword
One of the most unique and talked-about parts of Mackenzie and Jamie’s day was their custom-designed wedding magazine and crossword puzzle.
More than just a program, the magazine included fun facts about the couple, bridal party bios, stories from their relationship, and a crossword puzzle guests could enjoy during downtime. It was interactive, heartfelt, and had everyone smiling.

These personal touches elevated the guest experience and reflected the couple’s creativity and thoughtfulness. It wasn’t just entertaining — it brought guests even closer to the couple’s story.
Getting Ready with Grace (and Grace M!)
The morning unfolded in calm, joyful preparation. Mackenzie looked radiant with soft, glowing makeup by Nicole Hampson and romantic waves styled by Grace M from Nyspre Red. Her bridal party, dressed in coordinated pink tones, added to the warm and feminine aesthetic that carried throughout the day.

It was a morning full of laughter, quiet reflection, and love — a perfect prelude to the celebration ahead.
A Ceremony Moved Inside
Due to the rain, the ceremony was moved inside the reception area of Trents Vineyard, but was still heartfelt and deeply personal. Celebrant India Mikaere-Girvin guided Mac and Jamie through beautifully written vows under a canopy of trees and florals.

The soft breeze, the birdsong, and the love radiating from the couple made for a ceremony that felt timeless — a true highlight of this New Zealand wedding.

Portraits in the Vines
As newlyweds, Mackenzie and Jamie wandered hand-in-hand through the vine-covered paths and dappled sunlight of Trents Vineyard. It was a dream to capture these moments — golden light (despite the rain!), genuine laughter, and so much love.

Stealing kisses in front of the vines
One of the things I love most about Trents as a Christchurch wedding venue is how effortlessly beautiful the landscape is. Every corner offers something new — and watching these two soak in those just-married moments was incredibly special.
Food, Fun & Twinkling Lights
Guests were treated to a beautifully presented meal by Trents Vineyard, with exceptional service and fresh local flavours that made the reception feel relaxed yet refined.
As the night rolled in, the Nicole Gourley Photobooth kept the energy high with fun snaps and silly props, while DJ Vito Malo from DJ4U kept the dance floor moving. Every song hit just right, every transition smooth and seamless — the mark of a pro.

Then came the cake: a delicate and delicious creation by Kate’s Cakery. Adorned in soft tones and intricate floral detail, it was both stunning and sweet — much like the couple themselves.
A Choreographed First Dance
Mackenzie and Jamie’s first dance, taught and choreographed by Dance with Deb, was pure magic. Romantic, graceful, and full of personality, it kicked off the evening celebrations in style — and set the tone for a night of dancing, laughter, and connection.
There’s nothing quite like a dance floor filled with friends, fairy lights, and music that makes your heart beat a little faster.

A Day That Felt Like Them
What made this wedding truly unforgettable wasn’t just the florals or the venue or the golden light (though all were perfection). It was how deeply personal it felt. Every choice — from the crossword to the colour palette — reflected who Mackenzie and Jamie are as a couple: joyful, creative, and madly in love.
For couples planning their own New Zealand wedding, this day is proof that magic lies in the details — especially the ones that come from the heart.
Mackenzie and Jamie, thank you for letting me be part of your love story. Your wedding was a reminder of what really matters: the people, the love, and those fleeting, forever-kind-of moments.
